International Residency: Call Out for Two Tipperary Artists
Open call: Two Tipperary Artists for an International Residency in Live Art Ireland October 2026.
From 12 to 31 October 2026, an international residency and workshop will take place at Live Art Ireland. The project engages eight professional artists: four Japanese (Satomi Akutsu, Hiroshi Shimizu, Teruyuki Tanaka, and Tadashi Watanabe) and four Irish. Two Irish artists are confirmed (Deej Fabyc and Sandra Corrigan Breathnach); two places are reserved for Tipperary-based artists via open call.
Led by Sandra Corrigan Breathnach (Ireland) and Tadashi Watanabe (Japan), this residency explores themes of inner light, interconnection, and transformative darkness through contemporary performance art practice. Corrigan Breathnach will guide participants through exercises exploring the cyclical nature of life using energy, sound, and natural materials. Watanabe will lead contemplative practices drawing on Buddhist traditions, exploring darkness and silence in interior and exterior environments.
The residency includes a public workshop on 29 and 30 October. An open call for this workshop will be at a later date. The residency closes with a collective performance on 31 October (Samhain).
Tipperary-based artists, apply via the form below by June 10th 2026. There is a bursary of €400 each for both Tipperary artists.
