Dr Kat Cope is a late diagnosed Autistic mixed-media artist and researcher originally from the United States. They hold a PhD from Burren College of Art and University of Galway (2026). Their research explores the connection between Autistic masking and complex trauma. They use performance methodologies such as wearable costumes, breathing, movement, grounding exercises, and mindfulness meditation. These exercises have the potential to activate the internal senses of interoception and proprioception, which can aid in self actualisation, a key component to transforming trauma. Kat uses performance films and interactive sensory installations to activate audience participation. www.katcope.com
