Live Art Ireland and North Tipperary Queer Shed host free festive celebration of music, film and community
Borrisokane, Co. Tipperary — Live Art Ireland, in partnership with North Tipperary Queer Shed, presents Queer Christmas Cabaret on Friday 20th December at 7.30pm at Milford House, Borrisokane. This free event marks the launch of the Queer Shed Integration Series, supported by the Integration Fund 2025.
The evening brings together four dynamic performers. Limerick-based songstress JaYne delivers a blend of neo-soul, pop and jazz influenced by Lianne La Havas, Celeste and Amy Winehouse. Nat Stone, originally from Sussex and residing in Ireland for over two decades, offers storytelling lyrics and soulful vocals drawing on American and Irish folk with touches of Motown and jazz. Renn Miano, founder of Origins Eile and Co-OP label DIAxDEM, is a versatile DJ and cultural curator whose work celebrates Black Queer people and people of colour. Ukrainian singer Olena Moyal, now based in Thurles, brings twenty years of vocal performance experience to the stage.
The cabaret also features two short films by artists from Live Art Ireland’s recent Cultivating Queer and Disabled Visions residency. Chinese, London-based artist Donting Huang presents Interfaced Body, a five-minute performance video exploring how the body becomes an interface amid illness and encounters with natural forms. Indigenous (Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina) multidisciplinary artist Laura Arena screens The Origin of Water, the Origin of a People, an eight-minute poetic video diary connecting Indigenous relationships to water across Greenland, North Carolina and North Dakota, inspired by the Standing Rock water protectors.
Entry is free but seats must be reserved online. The reservation link will be available from 2nd December via Live Art Ireland’s social media channels.
