Rocky Meaney is a Professional Performance Artist based in Clare and Limerick in the West of Ireland. In 2024 he graduated with a Master of Arts in Fine Art from TUS Technological University of the Shannon Midlands Midwest, Limerick School of Art & Design, Limerick, Rep. of Ireland. His Live Art Practice is rooted in the areas of Time-Based Performance Art, Context Specific, and Site Responsive Performance. Rocky works primarily in the mediums of Live Art and Performance Art.
Artists Statement Using process-based performance methodologies, Rocky presents his body as material and a vessel for the embodiment of objects and artefacts from the organic and non-organic world. He responds through actions, gestures, and movements to site, positioning his body within context specific environments, engaging with the landscape, architectural structures, and found objects in the form of a posthuman being.
