Tarsha is an emerging artist working on Kaurna Yerta who is an installation artist: sculpture, performance art, voice, video, sound, sculptural installations, and writing. Her work explores the human condition: interpersonal relationships and interconnectivity across place, and ancestry (time), and species. Tarsha performed her inaugural performance art piece, “Together We Are Apart,” at the 2019 Adelaide Fringe, followed by “Peggy Buxton,” for History Month 2019. “Do You See What I See,”was created in partnership with Dance Hub SA and Arts SA. In 2021 Tarsha was shortlisted for a SALA award for her performance drawing installation “Unseen/Seen”, and in 2022 had her first collaborative exhibition “One” at the Mill. “Unapologetic” was her debut cabaret (2022)”Embracing Unravelling” (2023), sought to unlearn imperialism by remembering women ancestral stories. Tarsha now extends into socially engaged practice to continue this work – initially on displaced lands (“Hag-ia” 2024-5) and then on ancestral grounds.
