Siobhán Kavanagh

Siobhán Kavanagh is a vocal artist and composer based in Dublin. Siobhán performs extensively as a singer, exploring a range of vocal techniques and musical genres. Through experimental performance, Siobhán combines elements of performance art, vocalisations, costume, and stage design. Siobhán has been commissioned to write original music for film, exhibitions, dance performance, contemporary circus and theatre. This includes writing songs, stories, soundscapes and music arrangements. Siobhán is an interdisciplinary performer who works with musicians and visual artists across disciplines, with a focused approach to collaborative practice.

Examples of Siobhán’s collaborative performance work include, ‘LotusEater’ with Aoibheann Greenan @ Projects Arts Centre 2013, ‘Doom Opera’ performed live at IMMA chapel 2015 @ F**K IMMA by Séamus Nolan, ‘Composition 1 -I Breathe, therefor..’ and ‘Composition 2 -Notes on Breathing & Space’ by Siobhán Kavanagh and Adam Gibney performed @The Sailors Home, Limerick and The Complex 2018.

Between 2023 and 2024. Siobhán collaborated on the two major artworks by Deirdre O’Mahony : ‘Song of the Farmer and Dung Beetle’ performed @Eco Show Boat and Kunstverien Aughrim 2023 and ‘The Quickening’ recorded in Hellfire Studios and launched at The Douglas Hyde Gallery 2024.

In 2024/2025 Siobhán is continuing collaborations with four artists Kate O’Shea (SEA:Heart//Break 2022), Sophia Tamburrini (Up Jumps Johnny 2022), Alisha Doody (Song of Home 2024/25) and a film/soundscape in the making with artist Ella de Burca.
