La Pocha Nostra & VestAndPage – July 2024

The La Pocha Nostra/VestAndPage Summit at Live Art Ireland. This magical gathering will take place July 17-25, 2024 at The Historic Milford House in Tipperary, Ireland. Produced, Hosted & mentored by Deej Fabyc of Live Art Ireland, this historical event will be pedagogically led by La Pocha Nostra (Gomez-Pena, Balitronica, & Federico Tello), and VestAndPage (Verena Stenke & Andrea Pagnes). This summit will take place approximately from 1-8 pm each day. A daily meal will be provided during the workshop(as well as snacks/beverages) and communal lodging/facilities onsite. As part of the onsite accommodations and meal-sharing, the task of daily cooking and cleaning will be done on rotation by the participants in groups of four per day. There will be DIY breakfast options, a communally cooked Brunch at 12,  and a light supper after the workshop. All meals will be vegan with vegetarian options.Afterwards during the residency artists will buy and cook their own food

In lieu of a written application, we are requiring a compelling video submission of 3-5 minutes maximum which addresses the following questions:

  1. Which La Pocha Nostra and/or VestAndPage workshops have you completed if any?
  1. If we say that performance is “the space between contemporary art, quantum physics, and shamanism,” where do you locate yourself within this definition?
  1. How do you define your current performance practice?
  1. Which animal do you consider your nahual?

There may also be a possibility of being invited to a residency period here at Live Art Ireland to consolidate your work after the Workshop. If you are from the EU but not Ireland you may be eligible for a bursary after the workshop there will be ongoing mentoring from Deej Fabyc and there will be a participatory gathering at Borrisokane Reception centre here in North Tipperary Please get in touch to enquire about this
