Edy Fung is the first of our Artists to arrive for the Grass Residency which takes place mostly after our Convergence Festival in September October and November. Edy will be researching as follows:
1)Sonic Ethnography: I will conduct in-depth research into the specific natural environment surrounding the residency program. By documenting the unique soundscape of the area, capturing the diverse sounds produced by flora, fauna, and environmental phenomena, I seek to create a sonic archive that reflects the essence and rhythm of the natural world. 2)Sound Installation: I would like to make use of the site and the interesting interior space of Blue Room Performance and Double Height Barn to test the collected sonic material, driving the work towards an immersive sound installation. By employing various techniques such as spatial audio, field recordings, and interactive elements, I intend to stimulate a multi-sensory experience that encourages contemplation, reflection, and a deeper connection with nature.
