I was born on the day Bobby Sands died of hunger strike for civil rights in Northern Ireland. I was brought up both in rural Donegal and in a council estate in Dublin city. I attended Limavady College of Art a year after the Omagh bomb. I went on to study in England at University of Huddersfield where I presented my degree show, shortly after the USA declared a war on terror. After working in community and participatory arts in Yorkshire and traveling to Estonia on regular artist residencies I moved to Dorset to complete an MA in Fine Art. I returned to Ireland when Derry was the City of Culture since then been making performance art in public on a weekly basis with BBDB. I have made live art in Belfast, Bergen, Berlin, Bournemouth, Derry, Donegal, Tallinn, Umea, and Yinchuan. My work is deeply informed by a history woven with conflict, resilience, and the quiet strength found in everyday survival.
