The books in Live Art Ireland’s library belong to Deej Fabyc’s personal collection, gathered from childhood onwards. Some volumes were passed down from Deej’s parents and grandparents and, as a result, certain texts contain language that would be considered unacceptable by today’s standards — including racist and ableist terminology. These books are, however, 19th and 20th century classics and remain part of the collection as such.
The library holds an extensive range of titles relating to live art, including books on Deej’s own practice and publications in which their work features. You will also find books on and by performance artists working both today and in the past, alongside titles covering conceptual art and art history from prehistory through to the 20th century.
This library is open for artists in residence to use. We ask only that you return all books carefully to their correct place when you are finished, so that others can enjoy them too.
