Dr. Laura Leuzzi is an art historian and curator. Currently she is a Chancellor Fellow at Gray’s School of Art.
She is the author of articles and essays in books and exhibition catalogues, with her research focused on art and activism, socially engaged art, early video art, European video art histories, art and feminism, and new media. Her research has been published in books by Bloomsbury, Palgrave, Routledge, Mimesis, Gli Ori, University of Krems, and Heidelberg University. She is co-editor of REWINDItalia | Early Video Art in Italy (2015), EWVA European Women’s Video Art in the 70s and 80s (2019), and Richard Demarco, the Italian Connection (2021).
She has curated exhibitions, screenings, and performance events in Italy, the UK, and Switzerland, including The Showroom (London), The Nunnery Gallery (Bow Arts, London), MAXXI Museum (Rome), MACRO Rome, Walcheturm (Zurich), CCA (Glasgow), Summerhall (Edinburgh), Lethaby Gallery – Central Saint Martins (London), Visual Research Center – Dundee Contemporary Art, Threshold artspace at Perth Concert Hall and Theatre, Nomas* Projects (Dundee). She has given talks. lectures and presentations at several galleries, museums including Bozar (Brussels), Tate Modern (London) and MAXXI (Rome).
