Yves Lorrhan is a dance artist with professional experience of 26 years. Natural of Bahia, in the Northeast of Brazil, Yves extensive journey comes through Ballroom, Ballet, Contemporary and Afro Dance. In Brazil, with the dance company Bamberg he developed a show called BalacoxĂȘ, which brought the impacts of African heritage on culture and expression of people of Salvador and how these influences are still alive today in how black bodies move. In Ireland, Yves collaborated with artistic director John Scott and artist Osaro Adams, being a dancer in the ‘Birds of the Forest’ reading performance; with artist educator David McGovern at A4 Sounds; as well as dance artist Alessandra Azevedo and socially engaged artist, Karen Aguiar. In the past year, he performed in festivals and events such as Kilkenny Arts Festival, All Together Now, Five Lamps Arts Festival, Culture Night, Africa Day at Kilmainham and more. Yves received Agility Award support by The Irish Arts Council in 2022 and 2023.
